OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental, Jan. 21 (PIA)TheProvincial Office of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG),here, has challenged the local government units (LGU’s) to improve theirservices by adopting the policy of transparency in their transactions.

This, after the DILG has awarded some of the LGU’sin the province for following the guidelines of the Seal of Good Housekeepingper Memorandum Circular No. 2010-83 issued in 2010.
Provincial Director Teodoro Paller of DILG-Mis.Occ. said the LGUs of Clarin and Calamba were only two (2) of the first LGU’sin the province who were cited with the Seal of Good HouseKeeping (SGH) andgiven cash incentives of Php1.0 million, each, in that year.
Last year, it was the towns of Don Victoriano,Tudela, Bonifacio, Lopez Jaena and Aloran who were cited with the SGH with thecorresponding Php1.0 million cash incentives, each.
Meanwhile, Paller said of the three (3) cities ofMis. Occ., Tangub City came out as thefirst to receive the SGH award with the corresponding cash incentive of Php1.0million.
The SGH award is based on the LGU’s Transparency ofTransactions, Sound Fiscal Management and Accountability to the Public.
Also needed is the posting in three (3) conspicuousplaces of the Municipal Hall of the 13 points of the Disclosure Policy for thepurpose of wider dissemination that the LGU has adopted transparency in the useof government funds.  (PIA-10 Mis. Occ.)
